You are looking at the Charvel USA Custom Shop San Dimas Limited Edition
Gadsden Guitar - "Don't Tread On Me" by Mike Learn. I wanted to do something patriotic for the 4th of July. What better way to celebrate the birth of the United States of America than to do a Limited Edition Run of a Charvel Custom Shop Guitar. Charvel is a true American classic guitar. And this is a limited run exclusive to Custom, Metal & Classic Guitars. You wont find these guitars anywhere else. There are only 13 of these Charvel Guitars available; one for each of the first 13 states. Starting with #1 which is Delaware and ending with #13 which is Rhode Island. They are signed and numbered and come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). #3 is New Jersey and is not for sale. I'm keeping New Jersey, my home state, for myself. This is also the first Charvel Guitar to feature a Bareknuckle Pickup. I chose the Bareknuckle - Holy Diver because it sounds incredible. It is a handwound and scatter-wound pickup just like the Seymour Duncan pickups used to be. The Charvel Don't Tread On Me Guitars all feature Basswood bodies for some extra snap. I've always thought the "Don't Tread On Me" flag was really cool but I didn't know much about the history of it. It is actually called the Gadsden Flag. Everyone knows it as the historical American Flag with a yellow field with a timber rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the snake is the legendary phrase "DONT TREAD ON ME". It was really one of the United States first flags. In December 1775 Benjamin Franklin published an essay in the Pennsylvania Journal under the pseudonym American Guesser in which he suggested that the rattlesnake was a good symbol for the American spirit. Check out what Ben had to say. He was pretty insightful:
"I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other
animal, and that she has no eye-lids—She may therefore be esteemed an
emblem of vigilance.—She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged,
ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true
courage.—As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with
her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in
the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her,
she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons
are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and
contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and
fatal:—Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given
notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of
treading on her.—Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of
the temper and conduct of America?"

The man...the legend....the artist formerly and currently known as Mike Learn with the guitar. Don't Tread On Him!!!
