The Dinky™ body is constructed from alder with a one-piece bolt-on quartersawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint for rock-solid stability. The 12”-16” compound radius ebony fingerboard has a hand-rubbed urethane gel back finish and 24 jumbo frets for sublime and speedy playability, and a thumbwheel at the butt-end for easy and convenient truss rod adjustment. Other cool features are the contoured neck pocket and contoured lower heel for easy access to all 24 frets. In addition the jack cup has been strategically placed by recessing it on the back of the guitar and angling it up so your guitar chord will easily go over the strap button. Check out the pictures.
Under the hood, the DK24 is ready to handle your fiercest solo with an HSH configuration featuring a trio of DiMarzio® pickups (Super Distortion in the bridge, FS-1 DP110 in the middle and PAF Pro® in the neck) that deliver all-around smoother and fatter-sounding tone that slices through the mix. Dial in the tonal spectrum that best suits your playing with master volume and tone knobs and a five-way blade switch, and experience improved sustain from its recessed Floyd Rose® double-locking tremolo system. The Super Stock DK24 exudes attitude with a brooding Satin Black finish, black hardware, Charvel neck plate, Charvel branded die-cast tuners and licensed Fender® Stratocaster® headstock.

I'll admit I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this. My experience with the made in Mexico product line has been marginal due to less than stellar fret work on several new Charvel and Jackson guitars bought in recent years. Add to that Charvel's tradition of offering pro mods with 22 frets on the iconic but limiting San Dimas body platform. For those of us that like to shred up high, this is a somewhat disappointing limitation. Enter the DK24- 24 glorious jumbo frets on an all-access Dinky body, complete with all the features and hardware a modern, and/or in my case, anachronistic rocker could want! The fret work is spot on, the neck profile and oiled surface are everything I love about the Charvels. Hands down, one of the BEST feeling/playing necks I've had the pleasure of owning. The DiMarzios are a refreshing departure from the Seymour Duncans normally found in Charvels, though my DiMarzio's needed to be rewired due to an oversight in assembly at the Mexico shop. The only other issue is Charvel's insistence for using the Korean Floyd Roses. Those of us that know our way around a whammy bar know that there's no substitute for an Orig Floyd Rose. That along with a new brass big block were the only mods I made on my DK24. The striking appearance of the DK24 was also a huge selling point. The iconic Strat head with it's red Charvel logo compliment the red pickups that break up the black satin body. A stunning visage to go with the it'd impressive performance and features.
