This is the Charvel USA SoCal Custom Shop HS Snow White Guitar. This Charvel Custom Shop guitar that we designed and it is a beautiful shredder. This is a meat & potatoes Charvel. Simple and lethal. Charvel is all about guitars that are hot rodded guitars built for speed and playability, and this one is no different. Features include a San Dimas Body style lightweight Alder Body, Snow White Finish, 3-Ply Fender Egg Shell Pickguard, Quartersawn Maple neck with 22 Jumbo frets with the classic San Dimas profile neck with nicely rolled edges. Instead of the standard Polyester Finish on Charvels we put an upgraded Polyurethane clear coat finish on this one. It is a little thinner so the guitar will breath more but the big thing is that Polyurethane won't turn yellow like polyester does over time. So 15 years from now your finish will still look white. It costs a little extra but we think it is worth it. The 3-Ply Fender Pickguard is something that is normally not found on Charvels. We had to go knocking on Fender's door to get them to let Charvel Builder Red Dave go over and custom cut this pickguard for the build. In addition it has a compound radius fretboard (12"-16") so it practically plays itself. Chords are fretted with ease on the lower frets and as you move up the neck the fretboard flattens out so that bending notes is done with ease and without fretting out. It also is loaded Non-Recessed Original Floyd Rose Bridge. This guitar is a straight ahead rocker loaded with a single humbucking Dimarzio Super Distortion Pickup in the bridge position and the awesome Dimarzio DP-117-HS-3 Single Coil in the neck position. It pairs great with the Super Distortion. The Dimarzio DP-117-HS-3 has been the weapon of choice for Strat®-powered classical metal since the early 1980s. Far from being a high-output monster, the HS-3™ is actually a smooth and relatively quiet pickup that produces a sweet overdrive tone without jagged edges. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, because the sound won’t get muddy or messy. Think Yngwie Malmsteen tones from the neck pickup. The HS-3 is also versatile — it’s a noise-free pickup in a live situation or in the studio. For controls we have a Master Volume and a 3-Way Toggle Switch. This baby is a player.
