The EVH Stripe Series Star Black and White Guitar with FU Tone Upgrades guitar is a classic and part of Eddie Van Halen history. Eddie was always tinkering with his guitars. The famous Star Guitar was used on the Women And Childern First Tour in 1980. Eddie loved the Danelectro Necks and how they played so he outfitted his Charvel Star Body with a Danelectro Neck with a Rosewood Fingerboard. He pained the black & white "1980 Invasion Tour" Graphic on the guitar and the rest is history. This guitar is a replica of that guitar but with the Wolfgang playability and features. And this guitar is even better because it has been given the FU Upgrades treatment just like Eddie uses. Read on for all the details. This guitar is "High-Performance" all the way. Features include a sleek Star basswood body, rock-solid quartersawn maple neck with a hand-rubbed urethane finish, fast and smooth compound radius rosewood fingerboard (12”-16”) with comfortably rolled edges and 22 jumbo frets, single ferocious EVH direct-mount pickup with single black plastic control knob (master volume), EVH Floyd Rose® bridge and locking nut, and EVH tuners. Rumor has it Eddie will be playing this guitar on the Summer 2015 Tour. And it will have the FU Tone Upgrades.

 

FU Tone Upgrades

Floyd Rose Tremolo's come stock with light and wimpy trem blocks. In addition many of the key components that players use the most on a Floyd Rose are constructed out of weak and flimsy metal. FU Tone changes all of that. The FU Tone Big Blocks provide more mass which equals more resonance and tone transfer. In short, your guitar will sound like it just took a big dose of steroids. Fatter Tone and Sustain for days is the result. Anyone that has played Floyd Rose Trems probably has had broken String Blocks. They are made out of cheap metal. The String Blocks is where your string locks into the bridge. That should be made out of the best metal. Well FU Tone fixes that with Titanium String Blocks. Titaniumis the strongest metal that could be used and provides maximum tone transfer. Similarly Floyd Players know how weak all the screws are on the stock Floyd Rose Bridges.
