This is the Fender Custom Shop 60's Relic LTD Edition NAMM Telecaster Aged Black Over 3 Tone Sunburst Tele Guitar. This year the Fender Custom Shop celebrates 30 years of building the custom guitars like no other custom shop in the world. For the 2017 NAMM Show they built some Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Guitars just for the the show featuring the 30th Anniversary Decal Logo on the back of the neck. This Fender Relic Telecaster is one of those guitars and is one of our favorites. It features a beautifully Heavy Relic Aged Black Finish painted over a 3 Tone Sunburst finish with a Lightweight Ash Body. If you are looking for a relic tele that is easy on your back. This is it. It only weighs 6.8 lbs. And this Tele is loaded with Handwound Twisted Tele Pickups. The taller neck pickup bobbin allows for more winds for a slightly hotter pickup with some of that Strat Sparkle while still maintaining the classic Tele sound. The Alnico 5 magnets allow for enhanced dynamics and focus. This guitar screams of Vintage Fender. It also has a Medium Jumbo 6105 Frets, a '65 Maple Oval "C" Shape Neck 1st Fret: .830" - 12th Fret: .985" with a Rosewood compound radius (9.5"-12") Fretboard. The compound radius means that you have a fretboard that has a curvature that flattens out as you move up the fretboard. This means chords are easier to play lower on the neck and bends are easier higher up on the neck. You wont be fretting out on this guitar. Other features include 3-Way Switch with Modern Wiring, a Greasebucket Tone control which allows you to roll off highs without getting muddy or muted. The guitar is finished off with a 3-Ply Mint Pickguard and vintage hardware. This guitar is a great mix of old and new to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Fender Custom Shop. This was the only Tele in this finish at the show so it is a one-of-a-kind. Don't miss out on this one.
