This is a Fender Custom Shop LTD '59 Strat Journeyman Relic Stratocaster Faded 3TSB AAA Flamed Maple Neck Guitar. This is one of the last of these guitars available. Part of a Limited Edition Run, it has been given a Journeyman Light Relic finish treatment. It features an alder body with a thin nitrocellulose finish and a 3-ply mint pickguard.  1959 was a transition year for the Fender Strat as the slab rosewood fretboards were introduced.  Also towards the end of 1959 the 3 Ply Pickguards were introduced. This Fender Custom Shop '59 Relic Strat celebrates that guitar. The guitar neck features a 3A Flamed Maple Neck and a dark rosewood fingerboard with a '59 Esquire "C" neck shape and a 9.5"-radius fingerboard equipped with 6100 Jumbo frets. Three Custom Shop Handwound Ancho Poblano pickups, five-way switch, vintage hardware, and a bone nut round this beauty out to give it exactly what it needs. If that weren't enough it has a Greasebucket Tone Circuit which rolls off highs without make the tone too bass heavy and it has a blender knob which allows you to blend in the neck pickup to pickup positions 1-3. This is a great feature.

This Fender Strat guitar includes tan tolex hardshell case (with a red crushed velvet interior with Custom Shop Logo), strap, cable, polishing cloth, and Certificate of Authenticity. Fender Relic Stratocaster guitar is slightly worn-in, like your favorite pair of jeans. This special Journeyman Light Relic Fender Custom Shop treatment replicates the natural wear and tear an electric guitar gets from years of of aging. It includes some light wear, slightly worn finish and hardware and aged plastic parts. Fender's Time Machine series of instruments pay homage to specific years of some classic guitar designs.
