Fender Custom Shop Postmodern NOS Stratocaster Wide Fade 2 Tone Chocolate Sunburst Guitar

This is a Fender Custom Shop Postmodern NOS Stratocaster Wide Fade 2 Tone Chocolate Sunburst Guitar. This 2017 Postmodern Stratocaster was only available for order at the 2017 NAMM Show so this strat in this configuration is very rare. The Postmodern is Strat is elegantly designed with a reappraisal of modern assumptions. A time-honored classic crafted with six decades of “Fender firsts,” it has a lightweight ash body with a comfortably deep contours and cutaway heel, a lightly tinted AA Birdseye Maple Neck with a finely sculpted ’63 “C” profile, and 2 Tone Chocolate Sunburst NOS finish, a fast compound-radius (9.5”-12”) maple fingerboard with 21 narrow jumbo frets, and three Fender Custom Shop Dual-Mag Pickups in which each pickup has Alnico 5 Magnets for the bass strings and Alnico 2 Magnets for the treble strings. In addition this strat has modern five-way switching, Postmodern Strat Fat 50’s Hookup Wiring which provides natural “Tone-Saver” treble-bleed network that keeps tone consistent at any volume (no loss of highs when decreasing volume) and the Greasebucket Tone Control For the Bridge Pickup which rolls off highs without adding bass making it a more usable and musical tone circuit. 

 

Other premium features include a '59 strat single-ply 9-hole parchment pickguard, the new RDS Strat Tremolo Bridge which takes the vintage bridge to the next level, staggered tuners (no string tree), Fender®/Gotoh® Vintage Style Tuning Machines, engraved neck plate. The finish is a NOS Nitro Lacquer finish. Includes black hard-shell case and Custom Shop certificate of authenticity. This guitar is super lightweight at weighs 6.8 lbs.

 

RSD STRAT TREMOLO BRIDGE

 

• Vintage style six screw mount with steeper 20 degree bevel on the bridge plate that improves the pivot geometry. The mounting screws have corresponding 20 degree heads. The two together allow the bridge to pivot freely without sliding up and down the mounting screws like the original set up. It’s all in an effort to make things smoother and stay in tune better.
• The arm sits deeper in the block and the dimensions and plating tolerances are held to a higher standard to achieve a more solid feel and minimize excessive play. It also has an arm tensioning adjustment.
• The materials, plating, and heat treat processing were selected to voice the bridge for the best possible tone.
• The saddles are narrower and slightly closer together for better neck edge and pickup pole alignment.

• Alnico 2 Beveled Magnets on the treble side for Sugar Sweet Glassy Tone
