This is a Fender Custom Shop Tele 2018 LTD Reverse Custom HS Heavy Relic Telecaster Black Guitar. This is the actual NAMM Show Guitar and is actually featured on the Fender Custom Shop Website. The Limited Edition Reverse Custom HS Telecaster Heavy Relic offers a vintage-style guitar with all the goodies to take your tone to the next level. Equally striking in looks and performance, this color-over-color Tele sports a two-piece roasted alder body and quartersawn roasted maple neck, reverse-angle bridge pickup and humbucking pickup in the neck position. Add a Heavy Relic lacquer finish and it will dazzle the eyes. The reverse-angle, hand-wound Custom Shop Original Blackguard bridge pickup tightens the bass response and makes the treble strings sound warm and clear so you stand out from the crowd sonically and visually, while the Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck pickup adds warm, resonant sound. The dual 250k/500k volume pot offers the perfect resistance for each pickup, ensuring they have optimized articulate tone. The roasted neck and body make the guitar more resonant while adding a delicious dark note to its aesthetic. Other features include large “C”-shaped neck profile, 21 6105 frets, 3-ply mint green pickguard, ’58-’63 Tele® bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.This guitar weighs only 7.4 lbs so it is lightweight. 


Heavy Relic Treatment - What's the deal???
As a member of the Fender Custom Shop Time Machine Series, this Tele is treated with the Heavy Relic treatment. This means the instrument is finished to resemble an instrument that has enjoyed a long life of heavy use. This includes significant wear and tear to the finish, dings & nicks to the body, neck, and headstock, and aged hardware. The end result is an instrument that looks like it's been around for a while and plays like a broken-in instrument.  After playing one of the Heavy Relic Time Machine Teles there is no other way to go.  Just like your favorite old pair of jeans it just feels right.
