This is a Fender USA Select Telecaster Tele Honey Amber Prototype Guitar. This is a one of a kind special guitar. We picked this up at the Fender Factory at the 2012 Dealer Appreciation event. Fender, for the first time in their 60 year history, made available some of their prototypes for sale. That has never been done before. So this is a rare collectors piece. This is the kind of guitar that you hold on to and that will only go up in value. Who knows what it could be worth in 10 - 20 years. And to top it off the guitar comes with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) signed by the CEO of Fender, Larry Thomas. This particular Telecaster was one of the prototypes made when they were trying to settle on the finishes that they would offer for the debut of the Fender Select Series. This Prototype Fender Select Telecaster has a gorgeous Flamed Maple Top in a Honey Amber gloss-lacquer finish on a chambered ash body. This guitar is the pinnacle of the Fender USA line of guitars. If you are a tele lover this guitar should be in your collection. Its modern €œC shaped flame maple neck has a comfortable contoured heel, Bi-Flex„ truss rod system for solid and total stability, a satin lacquer back finish and rear-headstock €œFender Select medallion. The smooth-playing compound radius flame maple fretboard (9.5-14) has 22 medium jumbo frets, stylish black pearloid position inlays and gloss lacquer finish. Since this was one of the prototype Fender Select Telecasters they had not yet designed the Fender Select Pickups so this guitar was loaded with Fender N3 Noiseless Tele Pickups. It should be noted that there is a slight pressure ding on the top edge of the guitar as pictured. It came that way from the factory. It is very minor as can be seen. The guitar carries a full factory warranty.

Other premium upgraded features on this Telecaster include a four-ply tortoise pickguard (tortoise-parchment-black-parchment), Natural Maple Binding on the body, an American Tele Bridge with the new American Standard Bent Steel Saddles and Stamped Brass Plate, deluxe staggered cast/sealed locking tuners and nickel-chrome hardware. Fender SKB Case, strap, cable and polishing cloth are included. This is an EXTREMELY rare Fender Tele. This is a piece of history and an investment you can't go wrong on.
