This is a Jackson USA Custom Shop SL2H Soloist Mike Shannon Built Malaysian Blackwood Top Guitar. This guitar was custom built exclusively for CMC Guitars. We designed this guitar legendary Jackson Masterbuilder Mike Shannon. We have been waiting for this guitar for a few years and it was well worth the wait. The Malaysian Blackwood Top came out of Fender's wood purchaser's private stock. He had flown to Malaysia himself and ventured into the forrest owned by a local farmer to cut down the 3 Malaysian Blackwood trees. He dragged them 2 miles out of the forest tied to an ATV. That wood was all used for a limited edition Fender guitar. Mike Shannon knew of one piece left and negotiated it out of the Fender private stock. So you will be the only kid on the block with this guitar. It is truly a one of a kind. The Malaysian Blackwood is in the Ebony family and is a great tone wood. The guitar has a thick tone but is balanced nicely by the Flamed Maple Neck and Blackwood Top. The Flamed Maple Center Blank runs down the center of the body and the Malaysian Blackwood are the wings on the top. It crushes. Other features include a Flamed Maple Fretboard with Malaysian Blackwood Dot inlays. The Classic Jackson Headstock has a Matching Malaysian Blackwood cap with a Flamed Maple Jackson Logo. The Fretboard Side Dots are Brass Inlays which are a nice touch. This Soloist also features a compound radius (12"-16") Flamed Maple fingerboard for fast and easy playability. The pickups are a Direct Mount Seymour Duncan® JB Pickup in the Bridge position and a Direct Mount Seymour Duncan '59 Neck Position. It is a classic and lethal combination. In addition it has a Floyd Rose® Original Top Mounted tremolo and black hardware. If you ever wanted to own a Mike Shannon Built guitar this is your chance.
